The fashion event of the year, Stylist Live 2016 took place Thursday 13th – Sunday 16th October at the Islington Business Design Center.
With over 150 talks and workshops, this years event was even bigger than its predecessor and the first Stylist Live hosted in 2015. Celebrity guests such as Sophie Ellis Bextor and Gizzie Erskine graced the stage and with topics ranging from – The Bad Motherhood Revolution, How To Write Your First Novel, Growing Your Business on Instagram and Living Single – there was something for every budding fashionista.
So off I ventured, VIP Press Pass and Personal Photographer in hand to immerse oneself in a host of make up, beauty and skincare brands such as Clarins, Elemis, Lancôme, Liz Earle and Urban Decay – all were on hand for pampering and makeup sessions as well as pop up shops selling accessories. One of my favourite parts of the day was the food! The Feast Street and farmers market were literally a sight to behold and indeed feast on and I cordially devoured some Mac ‘n’ Cheese from the New York company, The Mac Factory.
The exquisitely fabulous, Stylist Live catwalk show sponsored by Swarovski ran at intervals throughout the day and was duly packed to the rafters with guests eager to catch the latest AW16 high street trends. Make-up brand Urban Decay sculpted the seasonal make-up looks for the runway, and were also on hand to provide professional tips and tricks to guests. If that wasn’t enough, to top it off, the creators of the new Supersonic hairdryer, and official hair partners of Stylist Live, Dyson, hosted talks from their own personal stage with the likes of Stylist’s Fashion Director, Alex Fullerton and Afro Hair Stylist Nicola Smyth – complete with its very own blow bar!
One of the keynote speakers of the event were Susie Lau of Style Bubble and Shirley B Eniang from Shirley’s Wardrobe, for the – ‘How To Turn Your Love of Fashion Into A Succesful Blog’, workshop. These inspirational women are two of the UK’s most influential Fashion Bloggers and Content Creators respectively, with second to none expertise in building a succesful online presence – both of whom boast an astonishing combined following of nearly 700K.
Shirley and I caught up with a quick girly chit chat in the VIP Keynote Speakers Green Room and of course had a mini photoshoot together – as girls do! She kindly expressed how ‘Beautiful’ my attire was – which is so refreshing and awesome for us women to support and compliment each other – so thank you Shirley!
Stylist Live 2016 was an amazing event that should surely not be missed and a key tip – get the VIP Tickets if you really want to indulge in the abundance of treats on offer! I can not wait for Stylist Live 2017 – see you there!
